Recent Gunpla Haul

My recent gunpla haul.
Finally have some backlog to show off!!
Not really, these HG kits can be done within a week.
It's very easy to snapped and built a HG without putting much effort in it.

Also got my first pair of quality cutter in over 10 years of building models.

GSR MSS-41 made by 3 Peaks in Japan

I haven't really got used to these new cutters yet but as you can see they have long and thin blades that can easily reach into small spaces in a sprue and can cut plastic like butter.

HGUC Gundam MKII WIP 2

Finish snapping RG MKII a while ago, which also prompted me to do some more work on the HGUC MK II.
The original plan was to finish HGUC Hyaku Shiki first but the weather is still too cold to airbrush so it doesn't really matter.

In my previous mod, the arm still looks a little empty so I added some details on the joint and forearm.
BTW, only work done on shoulder joint was part of my original plan.

Also extended the shield a little.
That small shield was barely tolerable before I built the RG. Its size was just too puny and embarrassing for MKII to hold.

The problem of working on a model is that the more I work on it, the more work I create.
After finishing modding some small parts, I usually find more unsatisfying things need to be changed.  Not to mention all the sanding and smoothing required after modding...

HGUC 1/144 Victory & V Dash Gundam molding defect

A head-up to anyone buying HGUC V or V-Dash Gundam.
Basically, all the panel lines on V gundam face is off-center (the mouth vents, the central and lateral grooves).
This defect is most apparent near the chin where you can see the central groove is not centered and the lateral grooves don't meet the chin at the same place.

Bandai had this problem in the original HGUC V gundam release but didn't bother to fix this molding issue so you will still get a crooked face in the recent V-Dash kit.
The additional Hexa head in V-Dash kit looks fine from online review pictures so you will at least get one good face out of two in this kit.

IMO, the original HGUC V Gundam becomes pretty much worthless unless you are buying it for kit-bashing or you know how to recast.

HGUC 1/144 RGM-89M Jegan B Type Unboxing (Premium Bandai Online Exclusive)

Received my order from Gentei Kits last week.
The box condition is pristine unlike the one I got from  Nippon-yasan and they shipped out the order pretty fast too.
However, I am still "lucky" enough that Gentei Kits messed up my pre-order and only sent me one box instead of two.
They promised to send me the missing Jegan ASAP but I suspect that won't happen until they receive the second run in May.

Mar 17 Update : Got the remaining Jegan today, box also in pristine condition!

The box art is quite plain, just a bunch of Jegans posing together .

Overview
Like the previous exclusive Jegan from F91, you can build a complete original Jegan from Char's Counter Attack.

These two little runners are the reasons you buy this kit.

Out of Box Build

Really like the new backpack, making the Jegan more in line  with F91 mech design.
Notice that this Jegan has two light sabers and they are now stored in left arm.
You can have three light sabers if you use the parts from original Jegan runner.

From left to right: Original Jegan from CCA, Jegan Normal Type from F91, Jegan B Type.

Weapon comparison.
The new  beam rifle has two pieces but it still looks pretty nice.

Besides the main body, beam rifle, missile pods and the addition of two square thrusters on the back,
the vulcan pod and blade antenna are also slightly different from standard F91 Jegan.

Swapping painted parts from the standard F91 Jegan.

The ABS plastic on this kit is quite soft and feels more like the new PS plastic found in HGBF kits.
It makes the joint more durable and much less prone to break.
Not sure this will hold true when painted though.

HGUC RX-178 Gundam MK II WIP pt. 1

I feel more pressure to finish some of my projects now after Bandai announced their cash-grabbing HGUC 2.0 plan....

From last Sep
Besides applying the primer and sanding it off, not much has been done since then.
